Sevgililer Gunu "Happy Valentines Day"

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday?Do we need this kind of special days??

"One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death. "says History Channel.

Who knows what's the truth?
But for me its just an ordinary day. When I see people with a rose in their hands and trying to make happy their partners, I just smile and thank God I don't need this kind of days to buy or receive any present.Cause at least it makes me happy when my dad or mum calls me to celebrate my loving day :)

Please refer the reference to read more on HistoryChannel web site:
"According to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making Valentine's Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year. (An estimated 2.6 billion cards are sent for Christmas.) Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women. In addition to the United States, Valentine's Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia as well as Turkiye.

Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages (written Valentine's didn't begin to appear until after 1400), and the oldest known Valentine card is on display at the British Museum. The first commercial Valentine's Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. were created in the 1840s by Esther A. Howland. Howland, known as the Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap". "

Snowy snowy snowy Istanbul

It's been 1 year for me not seeing such a cold weather like this...This snow (for the last 3 weeks) and compulsory home captivity brought me those Manchester days...
As you know grey London never turns into white.Thats why I was so happy when we went to Manchester at Christmas 2004 and woke up with white garden like this.In those days it was freezing cold I was wearing too many polars in the same time when my crazy friends were naked..
I was wondering Is this the magic of alcohol?

Now...

1 year later,

being at home country & in my city Istanbul & in my own room & from my window the world looks still the same...

I like standing in front of my window with a coffee in my hand and thinking about past days while watching outside.Of course it's always good when u are not outside and not being watched from warm houses when u r freezing in -20ºС weather :)

Mirror Mirror!

One day I was so bored at my office and trying to make myself happy while I was checking my e-mails...Suddenly I received an e-mail from Susu.. The subject of the mail was

"What do you know about me" I started feeling so excited.Cause I was believing myself so much..I was thinking like :"She is a good friend of mine so of course I'll be the winner & will be the one who knows everything about her"...

But things went wrong...

Suddenly I realized that there was sth in my mind which was controlling me included my hands. Then my score was %30 :( Of course I knew all the correct answers but that wasnt my mind and hands choosing wright answers...So What was that???

To analyse the thing which was inside of mind and hands, decided to create my own quiz. First I thought about the subject of my quiz.Suddenly it appeared on my mirror..That's why I decided my subject like:

"Mirror, mirror tell me, Is there anyone in the world who thinks they know me more than you?"

And secondly started making my quiz..It was funny ofcourse..Was trying to choose the hardest the most difficult questions about me...

So do u wonder about the quiz results????

When starting up..

When starting up dont know what to say...I met these blogs 1.5 years ago...It was really funny for me reading and searching and updating friends' lives but from another view was that so easy creating your own blog???
Now thinking...What if i had created a blog for myself 1,5 years ago???
  1. Would it be boring for me after a while and stop blogging or
  2. Would I create the 9th blog-edition like encylopedias :P

Who knows..Let's get it started now and here :)

My blog is welcoming you..

Enjoy!
